Skin Type: Dry / Dehydrated

Today, I would like to review one of my favorite body moisturizers: Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser.

Actually, I have been using this moisturizer for more than one year, but I never had the chance to write a proper review about it. So, here it is at last.

Before discovering Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser, I had tried many different body moisturizers, including products from Vaseline, Jergens, and The Body Shop. Unfortunately, none of them worked well enough for my skin. My skin type is very dry, almost dehydrated, and during certain periods it could even look rough, flaky, and scaly.

After spending quite a long time searching and reading through information online, I finally decided to try a moisturizer from Redwin. From what I found, Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser is widely known in Australia and is often associated with care for very dry, rough, sensitive, or scaly skin. According to the information on the bottle, this moisturizer is also suitable for sensitive skin and can even be used on newborn babies.

That claim immediately caught my attention. If a moisturizer is gentle enough for sensitive baby skin, I thought it might also be gentle enough for my very dry adult skin.

Why I Was Interested in Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser

Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser is a simple moisturizer. It does not present itself as a luxury skincare product with glamorous claims. Instead, it focuses on basic but important skin needs: moisture, comfort, and protection for dry or sensitive skin.

The main highlights that made me interested in this product were:

It is commonly used for very dry and scaly skin.

It is suitable for sensitive skin.

It is claimed to be gentle enough for baby skin.

It is paraben-free.

It comes in a large 500 ml bottle, making it economical for daily use.

For someone with very dry skin like mine, these points were more important than fancy packaging or perfume-like fragrance.

Ingredients

The full ingredient list on the bottle includes:

Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sorbitol, Stearic Acid, Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum), Cetearyl Alcohol, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Triethanolamine, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Chloroacetamide, p-Chloro-m-Cresol, Sodium Benzoate, and Linalool.

The product also states that it contains Chloroacetamide.

One thing I appreciate is that this moisturizer does not contain parabens. Personally, I tend to avoid products with parabens whenever possible, so this was one of the reasons I felt comfortable trying it.

This product also has halal certification from the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, which can be seen on the bottom back part of the bottle.

Packaging

Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser comes in a pump bottle. I really like this kind of packaging because it is more hygienic and practical. You do not need to scoop the product with your fingers, and it is easier to control the amount of lotion you want to use.

The bottle contains 500 ml of product, which is very generous. Because the texture is thick and rich, a little can go a long way. For me, one bottle can last for months, so I do not have to worry about running out too quickly.

The packaging itself is simple and practical rather than luxurious. It looks more like a functional skincare product than a decorative beauty item. But for a product like this, I personally do not mind. What matters most to me is how it works on my skin.

Texture and Scent

The texture of this moisturizer is very thick, rich, and creamy. It is white in color and almost looks like buttercream.

Because of its thick consistency, it feels very nourishing when applied to the skin. It does not feel watery or too light. For dry skin, this kind of texture is exactly what I usually need.

The scent is extremely faint. There is almost no noticeable smell unless I bring it very close to my nose. I cannot describe the scent clearly, but it does not smell like added fragrance or perfume. It has more of a plain, simple skincare scent.

For people who dislike strong fragrance in body lotions, this can be a good point.

How It Feels on My Skin

When I apply this moisturizer for the first time, it absorbs into my skin quite quickly. This may be because my skin is naturally very dry and seems to “drink” the product immediately.

After the first application, my skin feels softer and more comfortable. However, for my very dry skin, I usually need a second application to get the best result.

After the second application, the dry and rough texture of my skin almost completely disappears. My skin looks healthier, deeply moisturized, slightly glowing, and much smoother. The moisturizing effect also lasts quite a long time.

Even after washing my hands or feet with water only, without soap, my skin still feels moisturized. This is one of the things I love most about this product.

When I am not in an air-conditioned room, I usually only need to apply it twice a day: once in the morning and once in the evening. However, when I spend a lot of time in an air-conditioned room, I may need to apply it three to four times a day because air conditioning can make my skin feel drier.

Long-Term Result on My Skin

Believe it or not, after using this lotion for a few months, I felt that my skin looked a little brighter. This may simply be because my skin became healthier, smoother, and better moisturized. The product itself is not marketed as a brightening lotion.

Now, after more than one year of using Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser, I can say that my skin condition has improved. My skin tone looks healthier and slightly brighter, although not “white.” More importantly, my skin no longer looks as dry and dehydrated as it used to.

Even when I forget to apply this lotion for a whole day, my skin does not immediately return to its old dry and scaly condition. It still feels more comfortable than before I started using this product.

For me, that is a very good sign.

Other Ways I Use It

Another thing I like about Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser is that it feels quite versatile.

Sometimes, I use it as an emergency facial cleanser when I do not have anything else available. I have also mixed it with shampoo when I ran out of conditioner, and surprisingly, it worked well for me. It made my hair and scalp feel more moisturized.

Of course, these are only my personal uses and may not work the same way for everyone. But for me, this moisturizer has become a very practical multipurpose product.

Before and After

The “before” picture in this review is not a photo from two years ago, before I started using Redwin. At that time, I did not take any pictures because I did not know I would eventually write a review about it.

The “before” picture here shows my bare skin before applying Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser.

The “after” picture was taken about two minutes after the second application.

After the second application, my skin still had a slightly glossy effect, almost like a soft wet finish. Gradually, once the wet-looking effect disappeared, my skin looked very moisturized and healthy. The moisturizing effect could last for a long time throughout the day.

What I Like

I like that this moisturizer is very rich and deeply moisturizing.

I like that it works well on my very dry skin.

I like that it is paraben-free.

I like that it has a very faint scent.

I like the hygienic pump packaging.

I like that the bottle is large and economical.

I also like that the moisturizing effect lasts longer than many other body lotions I have tried.

What I Do Not Like

The texture may feel too thick for people who prefer very light lotions.

It may feel a little heavy for people with normal or oily skin.

The packaging is practical, but not particularly elegant or luxurious.

It may need to be reapplied more often in air-conditioned rooms, especially for extremely dry skin.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser has become one of my favorite moisturizers for dry and dehydrated skin. It may not look fancy, and it does not come with glamorous skincare promises, but it does what I need it to do: it moisturizes my skin deeply and keeps it comfortable for a long time.

For my very dry skin, this product works far better than many other moisturizers I have tried before. It helps reduce roughness, dryness, and the scaly appearance that used to bother me.

I would recommend this product especially to those who have dry, very dry, rough, or sensitive skin and are looking for a simple, rich, and economical moisturizer.

Important Note

This review is based purely on my personal experience. The result may be different for each person because everyone’s skin condition is unique.

A product that works well for me may not necessarily work the same way for someone else. The result can depend on many factors, including skin type, skin condition, consistency of use, environment, climate, and daily activities.

Therefore, this review should not be used as an absolute benchmark. It is simply my honest experience after using Redwin Sorbolene Moisturiser for more than one year.
